Hibiscus Women's Center is proud to have three Board Certified Physicians on staff.
Mary Lynn Perry D.O., FACOG
Dr. Perry has been Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology since 2005 and she’s been providing excellent care as an Obstetrician and Gynecologist since 2003.
Dr. Perry has been practicing here at Hibiscus Women’s Center since July 2012 and currently accepts new patients for comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care from adolescence through menopause. She does various minimally invasive gynecological surgeries in the office as well as performing obstetric and gynecological surgeries at Melbourne Same Day Surgery Center and Holmes Regional Medical Center. She enjoys supervising the midwives with the management of low risk pregnancies as well as caring for obstetric patients who need physician management.
Dr. Perry graduated with honors from Nova Southeastern University, College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1999, and was Chief Resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Brach, New Jersey. She has won numerous teaching awards including the Prestigious National Faculty Award from the American College of Ob/GYN for Excellence in Resident Education. She was recently appointed to Vice –Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Holmes Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Perry is also the Chief of Women’s Health at Brevard Health Alliance.
Jennifer Escobar, MD, FACOG
Dr. Jennifer Escobar has been serving the Melbourne area at Hibiscus Women's Center since 2017. Originally from Miami, Dr. Escobar graduated from the University of South Florida, College of Medicine where she was inducted as a member of the Barnes & Behnke Chapter of Gold Humanism Honor Society, received the Robert G. Nelson Award for excellence in the specialty of Obstetrics and Gynecology and served as Class President. She completed her residency at Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies in Orlando where she was honored as Chief Resident. While at Winnie Palmer, she gained extensive training in minimally invasive surgical techniques, including Robotic Surgery using the da Vinci Surgical System. She moved to the Melbourne area to be with her husband Dr. Michael Diaz.
Dr. Escobar is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and provides comprehensive OBGYN care with a focus on high risk obstetrics, in-office procedures, hospital based surgical management of gynecological issues, adolescent gynecology and preventative women’s health.
Sara Elhusein D.O., FACOG
Dr. Sara Elhusein is a board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist. Originally from Michigan, Dr. Elhusein graduated with honors from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2008. She completed her residency at Mclaren Macomb Hospital in 2012 where she was chief resident. She later went on to become a faculty member at Mclaren Macomb for several years where she practiced obstetrics and gynecology while overseeing resident training and education. As a board certified OB/GYN, Dr. Elhusein is trained in robotic surgery as well as other minimally invasive procedures. She provides obstetric and gynecological care for women in all stages of life and combines traditional care with the latest advancements to deliver the best care possible. Dr. Elhusein has moved to the Melbourne area with her husband Dr. Ehsan Sharaf-Eldeen and 2 sons. She is very excited to have the opportunity to raise her family in her husband’s home town!
Shannon Ingwersen, MD, FACOG
Dr. Shannon Ingwersen is a board certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist. Originally from Melbourne, she is excited to be back in her hometown and to join the team at Hibiscus Women’s Center.
Dr. Ingwersen enjoys building relationships with her patients and caring for them through some of the biggest changes and challenges in their lives. She is experienced in a full spectrum of OB/GYN procedures, including minimally invasive surgeries and provides compassionate care for a full range of women’s health conditions. She has special interests in breastfeeding medicine, adolescent care, contraception management, high-risk obstetrics and preventative women’s health.
Dr. Ingwersen graduated from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in 2012, she then stayed in Tampa and completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2016. After graduation, she moved to the greater Denver area, but is happy to be back in Melbourne to continue caring for women and to raise her growing family.
